After unsuccessful tries by many scientists for years, this group of scientists succeeded in the same. The best thing about the molecule is that it is made of 18 pure carbon atoms and is in ring-shape.
The chemistry scientists or chemists used the Carbon and Oxygen molecule. Later, the small bursts of electric current were used to manipulate the shape and remove the oxygen. Once that is done, another burst of electric current ensured the formation of an 18-atom pure carbon molecular ring. The initial studies confirm that this is the cyclocarbon, which works as the semiconductor. Once the scientists make a molecular chain of such cyclocarbons, they can make small nanometer-sized components for medical and other applications. Yoshito Tobe, a chemist at Osaka University in Japan appreciated the work by scientists and said that this will open up the new field of investigation. The pictures taken from Atomic-Force microscope reveal the ring-like structure of the cyclocarbon C18.
