LG is a bit different from other smartphone manufacturers when it comes to launching flagship products. It’s been including some innovative features in the previous flagship devices. For instance, the LG G7 had added an extra-powerful speaker system inside. According to the latest reports, the LG G8 may come with a second screen that is optional and attachable as per the requirements. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet.
It should be noted that the G8 would not be a foldable phone, something that Samsung is planning to launch this year. On the other hand, rumors say that the flagship device would have an option to attach a secondary screen. It’s completely up to the user to use the screen. When this extra screen is not attached, the G8 would function as though it’s a normal brick-shape smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer.
This information was shared in a CNET report, which has cited an insider source. This insider source mentions that the additional accessory can increase the total area of the display, by adding something like a case. Since everything is under veils, it’s not clear how such a case would function or how much extra space it will give to the user.
Some sources have also noted that LG is planning to launch multiple devices during Mobile World Congress of 2019 and that the aforesaid device may not exactly be the G8. However, as per the inside source, it’s clear that the company would be debuting a smartphone with extendable display. Some South Korean media had reported earlier that LG would not be launching a foldable phone anytime sooner.
As said earlier, LG has had a tough time standing up to other manufacturers in the market. In order to attract more customers, the company has been including some extra features like powerful speakers and a massive five-camera setup.
